Senior Database Administrator – Cloud (AWS RDS/Aurora)

About the role

As a Senior Database Administrator you will join a global, mission‑driven team delivering world‑class digital experiences for Fortune 500 clients. You will be responsible for the stability, performance, scalability and security of cloud‑hosted database systems that power mission‑critical SaaS applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and evolve AWS RDS and Aurora environments, handling patching, upgrades and maintenance windows.
• Optimize performance through query tuning, indexing strategies and configuration adjustments.
• Design, implement and test backup, restore and disaster‑recovery procedures to meet defined RTO/RPO targets.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues related to replication, storage and connectivity.
• Apply security best practices including encryption, access controls and comprehensive auditing.
• Collaborate with Engineering on schema changes, architectural decisions and automation of routine tasks.
• Support database migrations and adoption of new managed AWS database capabilities.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of experience in database administration or database‑focused engineering.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on reliability and security.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with CloudOps, Engineering and Security teams.
