Java Support Engineer – Level 3 Production Support

About the role

Plan A Technologies is seeking an experienced Java Support Engineer to provide Level 3 production support for mission‑critical enterprise applications. You will work closely with development, infrastructure and product teams to resolve complex incidents, improve reliability and enhance system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve high‑severity production incidents, performance bottlenecks and application defects.
• Perform root‑cause analysis, produce RCA reports and implement permanent fixes.
• Analyze logs, thread dumps, heap dumps and application metrics to diagnose issues.
• Develop bug fixes, patches and enhancements while maintaining code quality.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, DBAs and infrastructure teams to address cross‑functional problems.
• Participate in incident, problem and post‑incident management processes.
• Design and implement monitoring, alerting and automation to increase operational efficiency.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical leadership during incidents.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience developing and supporting enterprise Java applications.
• Strong debugging skills using JVM diagnostics, profilers and monitoring tools.
• Proven ability to work in production environments and on‑call rotations.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
