Investment Officer – Financial Institutions Group (Quito)

About the role

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is seeking an Investment Officer (or Associate) to join its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Quito, Ecuador. The role supports business development, investment pipeline evaluation, and portfolio management for financial institution clients across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze banking and financial institution markets to identify high‑quality investment opportunities.
• Develop and evaluate a pipeline of new deals, ensuring alignment with IFC’s development impact goals.
• Assist in structuring, negotiating, and monitoring investments in the region.
• Collaborate with FIG LAC teams to manage existing portfolio assets and drive performance.
• Prepare investment memoranda, financial models, and impact assessments for senior approval.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of banking, micro‑finance, and broader financial institution sectors.
• Experience in investment analysis, deal structuring, or portfolio management, preferably in emerging markets.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a regional team.
