Guest Service Officer

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and passionate Guest Service Officer to join our onboard team for a 5‑6 month contract. The role involves interacting directly with guests, addressing their concerns, and ensuring a memorable hospitality experience.

Key responsibilities

• Listen actively to guest inquiries and provide timely assistance.
• Resolve issues and negotiate solutions with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff.
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including understanding US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers and copy machines.
• Maintain organized records of guest interactions and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• One‑year cash handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work onboard for 5‑6 months.
• Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) is essential.
• Friendly, humorous, and committed to delivering high guest satisfaction.

Required skills

• Cash handling and knowledge of US currency and exchange rates.
• Operation of basic office equipment (telephone, computer, copier).
