Elixir Backend Engineer – Remote – Latin America

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Elixir Backend Engineer to join our talent network and work remotely with U.S. clients on project‑based assignments. You will become an integral part of the client’s engineering team, collaborating daily with designers and engineers to deliver high‑quality backend services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Build and support backend services that power mobile applications (React Native).
• Integrate third‑party APIs and ensure reliable software connectivity.
• Work with legacy codebases, improving reliability and maintainability.
• Implement automated testing and maintain high code quality.
• Set up and manage containerized environments with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize AI‑assisted development tools and remote environments such as GitHub Codespaces.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Experience building backend services for mobile applications.
• Strong background with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL and Ecto.
• Track record of working on large, complex systems in Agile/Scrum teams.
