Communication Officer (Media Visibility & Advocacy)

About the role

UNICEF Ecuador is looking for a dynamic Communication Officer to strengthen advocacy and public positioning for children’s rights. The role blends strategic analysis, advisory work, and hands‑on execution to influence national dialogue and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Produce strategic intelligence and analysis to inform advocacy decisions.
• Support the design and implementation of evidence‑based advocacy strategies.
• Lead the execution of positioning actions across media and public platforms.
• Ensure coherence of the institutional narrative across programmes and partnerships.
• Monitor political, social and media developments (core function).
• Provide advocacy and communication support for events and public engagement.
• Coordinate internally and contribute to learning processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience in communication, advocacy, public affairs or a related area.
• Fluency in Spanish and English.
• Knowledge of an additional UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is an advantage.
