Client Accounting Manager

About the role

Nuli Finance is seeking a Client Accounting Manager to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for its portfolio of growth‑stage clients. This role blends client relationship management, bookkeeping oversight, and team leadership, ensuring high‑quality financial deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client onboarding calls, capture business models, and configure accounting platforms (QBO, Xero) from scratch or improve existing setups.
• Establish AP/AR workflows, integrate tools such as Bill.com, Fishbowl, or Unleashed, and create month‑end close checklists.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, review monthly financials, and provide concise narratives.
• Identify opportunities to expand services (payroll, fractional CFO, etc.) and handle client escalations.
• Manage and review remote bookkeeping staff, assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure timely month‑end closes.
• Oversee transaction coding, reconciliations, journal entries, intercompany transactions, multi‑entity bookkeeping, and inventory‑related reconciliations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a client‑facing role.
• Hands‑on expertise with QuickBooks Online and Xero, capable of setting up new files.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Experience managing or reviewing the work of a bookkeeping team.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to juggle multiple client accounts.
• Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliation and reporting.
