Business Development Manager – Power Generation (Latin America)

About the role

As a Business Development Manager you will drive the identification and development of gas‑turbine power generation opportunities across Colombia, Ecuador and the South Triangle region (Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua). You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to align market needs with Siemens Energy’s technology portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and support gas‑turbine power generation projects in the assigned markets.
• Engage utilities, IPPs, industrial customers, EPCs and institutional stakeholders to build project pipelines.
• Assess project value drivers, regulatory frameworks and commercial structures to define development strategies.
• Contribute to early‑stage opportunity shaping, technology positioning and commercial structuring.
• Monitor market, regulatory and investment trends in the Andean and Central American power sectors.
• Maintain relationships across the power generation value chain and coordinate with Sales, Application Engineering, Government Affairs and local management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in power generation project development in Latin America, with exposure to Colombia, Ecuador and/or Central America.
• Strong understanding of power markets, regulatory environments, utilities and industrial energy consumers.
• Proven track record of advancing energy infrastructure opportunities from concept to commercial structuring.
• Fluent in Spanish and English with willingness to travel extensively (60‑80%).
