Assistant Principal

About the role

Esperanza Academy is looking for an accomplished, mission‑aligned Assistant Principal to serve as a key instructional leader. Reporting to the School Principal, the Assistant Principal will drive high‑quality curriculum implementation, instructional practice, and data‑informed decision‑making across the middle‑school campus.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and continuously improve the school’s academic program, ensuring rigorous, curriculum‑aligned instruction.
• Maintain a sustained, visible presence in classrooms through regular observations and instructional feedback.
• Partner with the Principal and Academic Support Coordinator to ensure instructional coherence, tiered supports, and alignment with schoolwide academic goals.
• Analyze student performance data (classroom assessments, MAP data, screening tools) to inform instructional decisions and program improvement.
• Manage assessment and testing programs, including incoming student screenings.
• Oversee grading practices, comment‑writing, report cards, and progress reports for clarity and consistency.
• Mentor and support faculty through targeted feedback, coaching cycles, and professional development planning.
• Facilitate department and grade‑level meetings focused on instructional alignment, shared practices, and data‑driven goal setting.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers, instructional leaders, and support staff.
• Experience analyzing student data to drive instructional improvements.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, joyful, and inclusive environment for middle‑school girls.
