AI & Data Engineer – Power BI & Microsoft Fabric

About the role

North Highland’s Data & AI practice is looking for an AI & Data Engineer to help clients turn scattered data into actionable insights. You will work with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and modern data platforms to build reports, dashboards and data pipelines that give stakeholders a clear view of their business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Power BI reports and interactive dashboards for client stakeholders.
• Build, maintain and optimise data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, moving data from source systems into analytical models.
• Support data‑architecture decisions, including data modelling, storage and medallion architecture within the Fabric environment.
• Collaborate with North Highland consultants to translate business questions into repeatable data models and analyses.

Required profile

• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Data Factory pipelines).
• Understanding of data architecture fundamentals such as data modelling, warehousing concepts and medallion architecture.
• Hands‑on experience building and troubleshooting ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience creating Power BI reports and dashboards, including DAX and visualisation best practices.
• Microsoft certification in Power BI (PL‑300) or Fabric (DP‑600) preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Exposure to cloud data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
• Prior experience in a consulting or professional‑services environment.
• Authorized to work in Ecuador without visa sponsorship.
