Accountant (Restaurant & QBO experience)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with restaurant and QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience. You will join a collaborative finance team that supports clients in hospitality, real estate, and consumer products, delivering accurate reporting and financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily financial records, categorize expenses, and manage the general ledger in QuickBooks Online.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and third‑party delivery app transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, track food & beverage and labor costs, and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor key restaurant metrics, including COGS and labor expenses.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card statement reconciliations and generate basic P&L reports for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.
• Strong, practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
• Works as an independent contractor.

Required skills

• QuickBooks Online (QBO) proficiency.
• Experience integrating QBO with restaurant POS systems such as Toast, Clover, or Square.
