Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the Laundry Master in overseeing laundry and linen operations aboard a cruise ship, ensuring efficient production, quality standards, and seamless service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor machine production requirements and ensure valet operations meet targets.
• Enforce proper tagging sequence for guest items and maintain clean valet machines.
• Oversee tunnel washer performance, achieving 24 transfers per hour and 100% capacity loading.
• Validate chemical formulas and ensure correct usage of Ecolab chemicals.
• Manage conveyor unloading, linen/towel delivery to work stations, and break‑cover schedules.
• Track daily demand on KPI boards, adjust staffing to meet production goals, and discuss productivity outcomes with the team.
• Provide coaching, training on equipment and safety, and conduct monthly inventory of laundry and linen rooms.
• Coordinate delivery of linen and towels to housekeeping lockers on each deck.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of laundry operational management experience in a luxury hotel or premium cruise ship.
• Strong customer‑service orientation aligned with Royal Caribbean’s service standards.
• Ability to lead and coach a team of laundry attendants.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook 365.
