Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the Laundry Master in overseeing the shipboard laundry operation. This role ensures that all linen, towels, tablecloths, uniforms and guest items are processed efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily laundry activities and manage the crew working in the laundry department.
• Coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper, Facilities Manager and other divisions to maintain equipment and ensure preventative maintenance.
• Inspect dryers and other equipment daily, verify temperature settings and lint removal.
• Oversee sorting of linen by color and removal of garbage before processing.
• Check finished products at the end of each cycle to confirm quality.
• Submit daily inspection reports to the Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer.
• Handle guest concerns related to laundry services and ensure prompt resolution.
• Set formulas and cycles for different types of linen and soil levels.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience as an Assistant Laundry Master or similar role in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel, cruise ship or upscale hospitality environment.
• Strong technical proficiency with laundry equipment and processes.
• Ability to lead, manage and direct crew members.
• Good judgment for problem‑solving operational and guest‑related issues.
