Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences on board. This role ensures that staterooms, public areas, and crew spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and fulfill guest needs, guaranteeing quality in staterooms and public areas.
• Take ownership of the appearance and maintenance of assigned areas, including top suites, lofts, decks, and pool deck.
• Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring compliance with brand and safety standards.
• Provide training, coaching, and recognition to supervisors and crew members, maintaining a strong floor presence.
• Ensure all activities follow safety, quality, environmental, SQM, and USPH guidelines.
• Support the Housekeeping Manager in meeting division objectives and operational targets.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year managerial experience in housekeeping within a large 4‑ or 5‑star hotel (500+ rooms), cruise line, or comparable hospitality setting.
• Experience supervising a team of at least 10 employees.
• Education equivalent to a high school diploma or comparable experience.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemical handling, safety procedures, and proper use of equipment and PPE.
