Teacher Librarian

About the role

The Teacher Librarian will join Colegio Menor Quito, a private PG‑12 liberal arts school, to lead and develop the school library program within an English immersion environment. You will support students and staff in accessing resources that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of the school library, including cataloguing, circulation, and resource acquisition.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum and project‑based learning.
• Promote reading culture through events, book clubs, and literacy initiatives.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students, adhering to safeguarding policies.
• Maintain library technology and digital resources, providing guidance on their use.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a background in library science or related education.
• Commitment to the school’s values of goodness, truth, and kindness.
• Experience working in an international or bilingual school setting is desirable.
• Willingness to undergo national and international vetting procedures.

Required skills

• Knowledge of library management systems.
• Ability to curate both print and digital collections.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
