Senior Manager, Ocean Policy

About the role

Conservation International is seeking a Senior Manager, Ocean Policy to lead and expand its Blue Climate program across the Americas and globally. Reporting to the Director of Ocean Policy, you will shape strategic policy initiatives that integrate coastal resilience, climate mitigation, and blue‑carbon ecosystem conservation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement international policy‑based approaches to advance CI’s Ocean Policy goals.
• Coordinate with the Center for Policy and Incentives to align ocean‑climate work with broader CI policy programs.
• Collaborate with field teams, the Center for Oceans, and the Moore Center for Science and Solutions to ensure integrated policy outcomes.
• Lead engagement with governments, NGOs, Indigenous groups, and private sector partners on blue‑carbon and coastal adaptation initiatives.
• Provide technical input on ocean‑climate issues and support the design of nature‑based climate solutions.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, creative professional with strong leadership experience in ocean or climate policy.
• Proven ability to work across multiple regions and time zones, especially with colleagues in Europe and Africa.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
