Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing CPA division in Ecuador. You will work in a fast‑paced, multi‑client environment, delivering high‑impact accounting services to U.S. businesses while collaborating directly with firm leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business clients as the primary accounting contact and trusted advisor.
• Perform and review full‑cycle bookkeeping, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, providing variance analysis and commentary.
• Compile data for federal, state, and local tax returns and support individual 1040 filings as needed.
• Assist clients with sales and use tax compliance, registration, and periodic filings.
• Maintain fixed‑asset schedules and calculate depreciation across multiple accounts.
• Support audit and review engagements by preparing work papers and supporting documentation.
• Onboard new clients, assess existing accounting systems, and implement consistent processes.
• Communicate proactively with clients about timelines, open items, and tax planning opportunities.
• Review and mentor staff accountants and bookkeepers assigned to your client portfolio.

Required profile

• Fluent English (C1‑C2 level) with confident verbal communication.
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP and experience preparing comprehensive corporate financial statements.
• At least 3 years of full‑cycle accounting experience, preferably in a CPA or multi‑client setting.
• Organized, adaptable, and able to handle varied industry challenges.
