Senior Systems Engineer – High‑Performance Data Processing (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to design, optimise and maintain high‑performance data‑processing systems. The role focuses on safe concurrency, Python‑C++ interoperability and efficient handling of large‑scale columnar datasets, all while working remotely with a global team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise large‑scale data processing pipelines using Python and modern C++ (C++17+).
• Integrate and improve columnar formats such as Apache Arrow and Parquet, ensuring zero‑copy and type‑consistent I/O.
• Build, profile and debug critical components with tools like gdb, valgrind, perf and sanitizers to resolve race conditions, memory leaks and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with data‑engineering, DevOps and platform teams to guarantee scalability, stability and observability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for mixed Python/C++ environments and integrate observability solutions (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, structured logging).

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with concurrent systems and large‑scale data processing.
• Advanced proficiency in Python (multiprocessing, threading, shared_memory) and modern C++.
• Strong knowledge of IPC, shared memory mechanisms and Python‑C++ bindings (ctypes, pybind11).
• 3+ years of cloud experience on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Fluent English communication skills.
