Senior Developer & Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking a senior‑level software developer to lead and supervise a development pod in Quito, Ecuador. The role combines hands‑on coding with mentorship, Agile team leadership and client interaction, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise junior and mid‑level developers internally.
• Act as Team Lead within a development pod, ensuring alignment and delivery.
• Serve as a technical escalation point and mentor, modeling best practices.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise‑level BPM applications.
• Translate business process requirements into prototypes and solutions.
• Support data gathering and analysis for risk mitigation and issue resolution.
• Deliver projects using Agile methodology and explain Agile terms to newcomers.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks or blockers, and communicate them.
• Lead Sprint 0 activities, capturing scope and requirements.
• Guide sprint ceremonies to ensure they are purposeful and collaborative.
• Communicate backlog reprioritisation and scope impacts to clients.
• Partner with the Project Manager to involve all key stakeholders.
• Manage release processes across environments, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Escalate issues with clear articulation of impact and risk.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of software development experience, including client‑facing or consulting roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• At least two years of experience mentoring, coaching, and managing junior team members.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicts constructively.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle.
• Deep understanding of Agile principles and ceremonies.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience designing highly scalable software components.
