About the role

The company FULL STEEL ACEROS INDUSTRIALES S.A., a supplier of industrial materials, is looking for a Foreign Trade Engineer to manage national and international purchasing, imports and customs processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement of products and supplies both locally and abroad.
• Request, analyse and compare quotations from national and international suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with new suppliers.
• Coordinate purchases and imports from Colombia, United States, China and other countries.
• Calculate import costs, freight, insurance, duties, taxes and nationalisation expenses.
• Prepare comparative price tables, commercial conditions and delivery times.
• Arrange land, air and sea shipments and verify required customs documentation.
• Work with customs agents, transporters and freight forwarders.
• Track purchase orders from issuance to receipt and verify quantities and specifications.
• Maintain up‑to‑date reports on purchases, imports and suppliers.

Required profile

• University degree in Foreign Trade Engineering, International Business or a related field.
• Proven experience in national and international purchasing (minimum 3 years).
• Knowledge of Ecuadorian import procedures and customs formalities.
• Experience negotiating and sourcing suppliers abroad, especially from Colombia.
• Intermediate to advanced English.
• Strong negotiation, organization, analysis and follow‑up abilities.
• Responsible, proactive and results‑oriented attitude.
• Age between 29 and 50 years.

Required skills

• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel for comparative analysis.
