Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed support to guests onboard, ensuring a high level of satisfaction through active listening and timely assistance. This position is essential for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere and resolving guest concerns efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to guest issues, provide assistance, and resolve concerns promptly.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Communicate tactfully with guests, department heads, and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Maintain accurate records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum one‑year experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related industry.
• Strong hospitality mindset, sense of humor, and people‑oriented attitude.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision‑making abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for 5‑6 months.

Required skills

• Cash handling.
• Basic office equipment operation.
• Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) is essential.
