Early Years Teacher

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Early Years Teacher to support our lead teacher in delivering a high-quality preschool curriculum. The role involves assisting with classroom instruction, ensuring a safe environment, and fostering children’s social and emotional development.

Key responsibilities

• Support the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, learning activities and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals and outdoor periods, ensuring safety and positive behaviour.
• Assist with behaviour management by reinforcing classroom rules and guiding children in developing social and emotional skills.
• Prepare and organise learning materials, resources and displays to support hands-on learning.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free classroom, including sanitising toys and equipment.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to children needing extra assistance.
• Observe children’s development and communicate observations or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Support daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals and rest time, promoting independence.
• Model respectful and inclusive behaviour to encourage positive interaction.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure consistency in practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (required).
• Completion of a TKT training course.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
• Patience, empathy and strong communication skills.
• Ability to observe developmental milestones and adapt to children’s needs.
