Assistant Housekeeping Manager

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager ensures a seamless guest experience in staterooms by coordinating and overseeing the work of Stateroom Attendants. Reporting to the Housekeeping Director, this role blends operational leadership with a strong focus on service quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and supervise daily housekeeping activities for staterooms, public areas, and open decks.
• Direct, coach, and evaluate the performance of housekeeping staff in partnership with the Housekeeping Director.
• Manage duty assignments, workstations, and overtime requests.
• Conduct daily staff briefings and respond to guest concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Perform ten stateroom inspections each day and additional checks during embarkation.
• Maintain sanitation, SQM, and safety logs in line with ISM/ISO, USPH, and environmental policies.
• Oversee inventory of linen, amenities, and supplies, and process requisitions for approvals.
• Lead on‑the‑job training, cross‑training, and mentorship programs for new hires.
• Drive cost‑containment initiatives through proper handling of supplies and equipment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated commitment to the Ways Program’s Credo and safety standards.
• Experience supervising housekeeping teams in a hospitality or cruise environment.
• Strong communication skills for guest interaction and staff coordination.
• Ability to conduct inspections, manage inventories, and maintain compliance documentation.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and ownership of guest satisfaction.
