Sustainable Production and Consumption Consultant

About the role

The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) seeks a Sustainable Production and Consumption Consultant to support Ecuador’s Zero Carbon Program and the National Climate Finance Vehicle. The consultant will work on delivering concrete outputs that promote sustainable production, consumption patterns, and climate‑friendly business practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies that encourage companies to measure, reduce, and offset greenhouse‑gas emissions.
• Provide technical guidance for aligning private‑sector practices with national climate goals and the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Support the design and operationalization of the Ecuador Zero Carbon Program (PECC) and related financing mechanisms.
• Prepare deliverables, reports, and policy recommendations for the Ministry of Environment and Energy.
• Collaborate with GGGI teams, local stakeholders, and international partners to ensure project milestones are met.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in environmental science, economics, public policy, or a related field.
• Professional experience in climate finance, sustainable production, or green growth consulting.
• Familiarity with Ecuador’s environmental regulations and climate strategies.
• Ability to work independently on a deliverable‑based contract.
