Manager, Metallurgy & Processing (Global)

About the role

The Manager, Metallurgy & Processing leads BHP's global metallurgical Centre of Excellence, providing specialist technical services, governance and assurance across the company's metallurgical assets. This senior leadership position drives performance improvement and future capability development in metallurgy and processing.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the RCoE metallurgical team to deliver on organisational objectives.
• Ensure 2‑year metallurgical budgets and business plans meet global standards.
• Coach, develop and lead a high‑performing technical team.
• Build and maintain a global Community of Practice for metallurgical professionals.
• Provide technical governance for major projects through IPRs and EPRs.
• Support business development with technical due diligence for new investments.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership in a technical environment with a focus on health, safety and sustainability.
• Strong understanding of risk management and compliance with statutory regulations.
• Experience engaging with project teams to deliver capital projects from design to operational readiness.
• Proven ability to set KPIs, monitor performance and develop staff.
