AR/AP Accountant

About the role

The AR/AP Accountant supports daily accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and proper billing and collections. This position helps maintain strong cash flow, clean financial records, and effective coordination with vendors, clients, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports with accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure proper coding, approval, and documentation of all payables in line with company policies.
• Maintain vendor records and handle communications regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly payment runs and reconcile the AP sub‑ledger to the general ledger.
• Generate and issue client invoices based on project milestones, time entries, and contract terms.
• Record client payments, monitor aging reports, and assist in collections efforts.
• Collaborate with project management and client teams to resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
• Maintain AR documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preferably in a professional services or agency environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles related to AP/AR, including invoice processing, expense reports, reconciliations, and aging analysis.
• High attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience with accounting or ERP systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivot tables, basic formulas).
