Temporary 1st Grade Teacher (Maternity Replacement)

About the role

Colegio Menor, a private PG‑12 liberal arts school in Quito, is seeking a temporary 1st Grade Teacher to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate will join an English immersion program and support the school’s mission of fostering intelligent, well‑rounded thinkers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging 1st‑grade lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and English immersion objectives.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment that reflects the school’s values of goodness, beauty, and truth.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure continuity of learning during the temporary assignment.
• Participate in safeguarding and welfare procedures, including required background checks.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience teaching primary‑grade students.
• Commitment to the school’s inclusive ethos and to promoting the welfare of all pupils.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, bilingual environment.
• Willingness to undergo national and international vetting procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in delivering curriculum in an English‑immersion setting.
