Strategic Payments Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Payments Manager to lead high‑impact initiatives for a major international client in the financial sector. Based in Guayaquil, Ecuador, you will coordinate projects across acquiring, payment acceptance and digital payment solutions, working closely with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee strategic initiatives related to acquiring and electronic payments.
• Partner with operations, product, technology, compliance, finance and risk teams to deliver project milestones.
• Track budgets, timelines and KPIs, and prepare executive updates for senior leadership.
• Support implementation and optimisation of payment acceptance solutions such as POS, e‑commerce, QR codes and digital wallets.
• Maintain relationships with payment networks, strategic partners and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security and internal governance standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer payment experiences.
• Monitor industry trends and contribute recommendations for future payment initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing strategic projects in payments, banking, fintech or financial services.
• Strong understanding of acquiring, merchant solutions and digital payment ecosystems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to coordinate multiple teams.
• Strong communication, leadership and organisational abilities.
• Familiarity with regulatory and security requirements for electronic payments.
